Creating Memorable User Experiences
Throughout the past seven years, I have filled various roles in small to mid-size agencies and have since entered into the corporate world at a large footwear retailer.
My background spans full front end development and web design roles to where I am now working as an Interactive Designer creating website mocks, digital ads, email layouts and even print materials. I have a true love of paper and snail mail, which is why I also run my own wedding stationery business on the side.
I like to stay busy and bring my knowledge into all that I do, while ensuring that I keep the customer first by designing a great user experience.
As a designer, it is so important to realize that every detail counts. A light gray, 1px border can make the difference between an okay design and a great one. As Charles Eames said, "The details are not the details. They make the design."
As I design, I make sure to focus on more than just the aesthetics of the design. If a user cannot navigate through the site to an end goal, then it is a useless design. Small, subtle differences can make the biggest impact when focusing on user experience.
